WALLA WALLA, WA (04/22/2013)(readMedia)-- Gus Thomas of The Dalles, Ore., recently performed in a production of Aaron Bushkowsky's My Chernobyl with Whitman College's department of theatre from Walla Walla, Wash.

My Chernobyl is a quirky romance, both touching and hilarious, which follows a naïve Canadian who travels to Belarus to give an inheritance to his father's last remaining relative. While there he meets his long lost cousin, a Russian woman who sees him as her ticket out of the radiation blasted country.

The showings took place from April 10-14, and were produced by over 30 of Whitman College's students and staff members. Thomas played the role of Alex.

Thomas is the son of Brenda and Sterling Thomas from The Dalles, Ore. He is a 2012 graduate of The Dalles Wahtonka High School.

At Whitman, Thomas is a first-year theatre major.
