Harlem Ambassadors Visit the Capital Region to Team Up for The Huntington's Disease Society of America

Harlem Ambassadors will face the "HD Ballers" at Troy High School on March 30, 2013 to support people in the region affected by Huntington's disease

TROY, NY (02/19/2013)(readMedia)-- The internationally-acclaimed Harlem Ambassadors have partnered with the Huntington's Disease Society of America to help raise funds to support HDSA's fight to improve the lives of people affected by Huntington's disease.

The Harlem Ambassadors offer a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball, featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines and deliver a positive message for kids wherever the Ambassadors play. "At our shows, we want the kids to know that they're part of our team too," Coach Ladè Majic said. "We invite as many kids as we can to come sit on the bench, have a front row seat during the show, and get involved in all of the fun stuff we do."

The Ambassadors set themselves apart from other "Harlem-style" basketball teams by working with local not-for-profit organizations and holding Harlem Ambassadors shows as community fundraising events.

Come out for a great time to see the HD Ballers take on the Harlem Ambassadors. The HD Ballers is a team comprised of local community residents, including comedian Greg Aidala. The night will also include a great half-time show, raffle prizes, refreshments, and a chance to get the team's autographs. This is sure to be a great night of entertainment for the whole family.

Huntington's Disease (HD) is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder that results in a loss of cognitive, behavioral and physical control, and for which, presently, there is no cure and only one FDA approved treatment for a symptom of HD. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, think, talk and reason. Symptoms usually appear in an individual between 30 and 50 years of age and progress over a 10 to 25 year period.
