Harrisburg Resident Tom Blaisse Receives Alumni Award from DeSales University

CENTER VALLEY, PA (10/10/2012)(readMedia)-- On September 29, Harrisburg resident Thomas Blaisse was awarded the DeSales University Alumni Achievement Award during the school's 2012 Homecoming Weekend.

The Alumni Acheivement Award recognizes an outstanding member of the DeSales community whose achievements have stretched beyond campus and inspired others along the way. The award is given annually to an alumnus or alumna with a strong commitment to the University, family, community, and profession.

During his varied career, Blaisse, who graduated from DeSales in 1975, has been a stand-out teacher, a consultant, a top-rated seminar leader, a published author (Stepping Up to the Plate); poet ("We Are Climbers, All") and composer/lyricist of 13 Contemporary Christian songs produced under the title, Manifest the Glory of God (1997.) In 2011, he recorded a solo Holiday CD album titled It's Christmas. Blaisse is a member of The National Speaker's Association, the American Society for Training and Development, The Knights of Columbus (3rd degree) and the Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout).

DeSales University, in Center Valley, Pa., is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts university affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. Founded by the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales in 1965, the 480-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles south of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,000 includes undergraduate day and evening students and graduate students. DeSales has approximately 100 full-time faculty members and offers more than 35 bachelor's degrees and seven graduate programs in a wide range of disciplines.
