Hartwick Hawks men's track and field picked up six selections on the Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference Teams. The blue and white earned their most all-conference selections since the program's reinstatement, capping another successful season. Leading the way was sophomore standout Cody Bazemore '28 (Bel Air, Maryland), who continued his impressive rise on both the conference and regional stages.
Bazemore earned his second career outdoor all-conference honor, securing Second Team recognition in the 100-meter dash. Earlier this season, he collected USTFCCCA All-Region honors in both the 100-meter dash and long jump. During the indoor campaign, Bazemore was a two-time Empire 8 Second Team selection in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes while also earning regional recognition in both events.
Senior Marquis Jones-McKinney '26 (Astoria, New York) capped a stellar final season with his first career Empire 8 All-Conference selection, earning Second Team honors in the high jump. Building on an All-Region performance during the indoor season, Jones-McKinney delivered a career-best effort at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships, clearing 1.93 meters to secure all-conference recognition. Earlier this year, he was also selected to the Empire 8 Tomorrow's Leaders Team during the indoor season.
Hartwick's record-setting 4x100-meter relay team also earned Third Team honors following a historic season. The quartet of Bazemore, Patrick Conteh '26 (Salisbury, Maryland), Shane Hunte '29 (Rosedale, New York) and Jaiden Deacon '28 (Valley Stream, New York) consistently rewrote the program record book throughout the spring and posted a time of 43.14 seconds at the conference championships. The honor marks the first all-conference relay recognition since the program's return.
In addition to the all-conference selections, Larry McCumiskey '28 (Delhi, New York) was named Hartwick's representative on the Empire 8 Tomorrow's Leaders Team. The award recognizes a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader in competition, the classroom and the community while consistently demonstrating honor, integrity, sportsmanship and service.
