HERKIMER, NY (12/09/2011)(readMedia)-- Herkimer County Community College has named student-athletes to the Green and Gold Club for November 2011. HCCC's Green and Gold Club honors an outstanding male and female athlete each month.

The Female Athlete of the Month is Hayley Awerdick, Women's Basketball, Ossining, NY. She is a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major. Awerdick has scored an average 17 points per game and is 29-62 on three-point shots. She was named Region III Player of the Week for November 14-21. Coach John Campagna said, "Hayley has been our go-to player when we need a basket late in the game. She had the best month of three-point shooting in my 23-year tenure at Herkimer."

Herkimer County Community College is a unit of the State University of New York, located in Herkimer, NY about 20 miles east of Utica, NY. With an enrollment of approximately 3,600 students, Herkimer offers more than 40 associate degree and certificate programs, on-campus housing, an active co-curricular activities schedule and a national championship athletic program. Herkimer is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has amassed 33 national, 87 regional and 126 conference championships. Herkimer placed second in the 2010-11 National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup competition.
