Help Wanted: Calling All Climbers

Fun-Filled Event Raises Funds for Lung Disease Research, Education and Advocacy

ALBANY, NY (03/21/2008)(readMedia)-- On Saturday, March 29, 2008, the American Lung Association of New York State (ALANYS) will host an exciting race to the top of Colonial tower of UAlbany. If you are committed to clean air and lung health, we invite you to join hundreds of other people in climbing 22 floors and raising much needed funds for research.

Each step taken brings the Lung Association one step closer to finding a cure for lung disease!

The Lung Association is still registering teams to participate -- to begin all you need is a team name. Many participants are choosing to climb in honor of a “lung champion”, someone who has passed away or is currently fighting lung disease.

After you choose a team name you can visit our website at www.alanys.org to register your team and set up your climb webpage. After you create your webpage family, friends and co-workers can simply visit your page and donate to your team. Participants who raise $125 will be entered to win a free iPod Nano!

ALANYS promotes lung health and prevents lung disease throughout the entire state by means of education, program services, public health advocacy and research. We work every day to fight asthma and other lung diseases as well as to fight for healthy, clean air in which all of us can breathe.

A variety of local sponsorships remain available. Your investment can help save countless lives. For more information or to register today to support this event call Catherine McLaughlin at (518) 465-2013 x 306 or visit www.alanys.org.
