High-Profile Experts to Speak at Global Supply Chain Management Conference

PLATTSBURGH, NY (03/16/2009)(readMedia)-- Thaddeus M. Bingel, chief of staff and commissioner, U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be one of the many internationally recognized experts featured at the Global Supply Chain Management Conference coming to the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh May 19-21. Others include Robert Armstrong, president of Supply Chain & Logistics Association Canada; Samuel H. Banks, executive vice president for Sandler & Travis Trade Advisory Services and former acting commissioner of customs; Louis Samenfink, executive director of the CBP Cargo Systems Program Office; and Patrice M. Pelletier, president and chief executive officer of the Montreal Port Authority.

In what is expected to become an annual event, the conference will expose business and government leaders to current trends, analyses and state-of-the-art solutions. It will bring together internationally recognized speakers to discuss significant supply chain issues related to cross-border compliance and regulatory issues such as the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program, Partners in Protection, the 10+2 program, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, the Lacey Act, the Western Hemisphere Security Initiative, the 24-Hour Rule, container security issues, the Importer Self Assessment Initiative and many others. Other topics will include transportation security and supply chain security solutions; green/sustainable supply chains; and green corridors.

Several high profile companies and organizations in the supply chain arena are also represented in the three-day program, including A.N. Deringer, FedEx Trade Networks, Action Worldwide, Robert Transport, the Canadian/American Border Trade Alliance, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Crossborder Development Corporation, Florida Institute of Technology, and the Commission for Environmental Cooperation. In addition, several internationally recognized trade attorneys from Stafford, Owens, Curtin and Trombley; Hogan and Hartson; and Simon, Gluck and Kane will also be represented at the conference.
