MILLERSVILLE, PA (06/23/2011)(readMedia)-- Hilary P. Powell of Pottstown, Pa. has been chosen to receive the James C. Parks Endowed Scholarship in Botanical Research for the 2011-2012 academic year. This scholarship is given to an incoming freshman at Millersville University of Pennsylvania who is majoring in biology.
Powell will be attending Millersville this fall, majoring in biology. She completed a traditional college preparatory program at Pottsgrove High School. Powell completed several honors and advanced placement (AP) courses, including calculus, European history, German and chemistry. She played the violin in the Montgomery County Honors Orchestra and her high school orchestra from grades 9 to 12. She was a member of the German club and played on the tennis team for grades 11 and 12.
The James C. Parks Endowed Scholarship in Botanical Research is given in the amount of $1915 The award is renewable for up to three years if the student stays in good academic standing and continues conducting their research.
