Hillary Ahola of Manitowoc to perform with Marquette student dance company in Catey Ott Dance Collective

MILWAUKEE, WI (03/25/2014)(readMedia)-- Hillary Ahola of Manitowoc, Wis. will perform with the Marquette University student dance company Pure Dance Marquette in Living It Up (and down), an evening length dance production by Catey Ott Dance Collective. Catey Ott Thompson, adjunct instructor of digital media and performing arts at Marquette, will present the concert of her choreography at Danceworks Studio Theatre, located at 1661 N. Water Street, Saturday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 30, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The concert is created to the music of "The Incomparable Hildegarde," Thompson's grandmother's cousin, a Wisconsin girl who worked her way to fame and fortune in the 1930-70's cabaret scene in New York City and Europe.

Ahola is one of five members of Marquette's Pure Dance student-run company to enter the woman's dance studio domain to perform in "Peers through the Tiers." She is a senior in Marquette's College of Health Sciences studying biomedical sciences and dance. She is the co-president of Pure Dance Marquette and this will be her fourth year on Pure. Ahola danced for the Jean Wolfmeyer School of Dance from second grade through senior year of high school and was in her Senior Company throughout four years of high school. She was the Rose Soloist in The Nutcracker of senior year and has attended numerous dance intensives in the Chicago Area and took classes at the Milwaukee Ballet.
