Hoffman Earns Academic All-District Honor

HOUGHTON, MI (06/04/2013)(readMedia)-- Michigan Tech senior Melanie Hoffman (Pulaski, Wis.)  earned Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for cross country/track and field recently. She will be placed on the national ballot for All-America honors.

Hoffman finished second in the javelin at the GLIAC Championships with a school-record throw of 119-2 and sixth in the heptathlon with 4,338 points. She earned All-GLIAC honors three times in her career and holds three school records. She earned Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in the fall for women's soccer and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average as a double major in exercise science and biology.
