Background: Whether you are an alumnus or friend of the College, a supporter, a spouse or current student, the overall local community eagerly anticipates Genesee Community College's "Fall Fest - Cougar Weekend!" The celebration of the College's homecoming events and festivities are planned for the weekend of September 25-27, 2015 and ALL are welcome to join in the GCC Fall Fest that includes fun for everyone!

New for 2015 is the "Cougar Crawl," a walk around downtown Batavia with stops at local establishments for food and drink specials largely featuring GCC alumni businesses. The Cougar Crawl will kick off the weekend on Friday, September 25 at 5 p.m. commencing at City Slickers at 59 Main Street in Batavia. The "crawl" includes stops at Yngodess Shop at 73 Main Street, Valle Jewelers at 21 Jackson Street, Sweet Pea's Cupcakery at 23 Jackson Street, Bourbon and Burger at 9 Jackson Street, Blue Pearl Yoga on the second level of 200 East Main Street and concludes at T.F. Browns at 214 East Main Street, where the College's radio station, WGCC 90.7 FM will cap off the night with its 30th Birthday Bash! The Birthday Bash will include a raffle for two Bill's tickets for the Bills vs. Bengals game on Sunday, October 18! Continuing with the fun after the Birthday Bash we will be "Bowling for Jeff." The money raised will benefit an endowed scholarship in memory of Jeff Newland '87.

The fun continues on Saturday, September 26 with the car cruise in GCC's north parking lot. Deemed "Rods and Rock," classic cars, trucks and motorcycles will converge at 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. The first 100 cars receive gift bags and dash plaques, and a DJ will be playing good ole' rock and roll. The second annual Alumni Reunion baseball game starts at 11 a.m. at the Batavia Campus baseball field and inside GCC, the "Cougar Den" will have all kinds of fun activities for children in the cafeteria. A craft and vendor fair will be happening in the Forum and it is also the last day to view the "Impromptus" exhibit by Jonathon Langfield at the Roz Steiner Art Gallery.

The College's Athletic Department will induct the fifth class into the Athletic Hall of Fame with a ceremony planned for 4 p.m. on Saturday. Members of this year's induction class are Dale Pearce ('05, swimming and diving), Ryan Gugel ('07, baseball), Tracy O'Bonna ('05, volleyball) and the National Runner-Up 2010 Women's Soccer Team. The ceremony will take place in room T119 of the Conable Technology Building and all are welcome to attend.

A performance by the Genesee Symphony Orchestra will wrap up the weekend on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 4 p.m. in the Stuart Steiner Theatre. The Fall Festival will be conducted by S. Shade Zajac with guest piano soloist, 13-year-old Raymond Feng performing Greig's Piano Concerto in A Minor, Movement 1.
