NEWTON, MA (03/08/2010)(readMedia)-- Matthew Wiedeman, a native of Hudson, MA and graduate of Hudson Catholic High School, won third place at the Third Annual Mount Ida College Film Festival. The festival was held March 4-6 at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA.
Wiedeman, a junior computer animation major at Mount Ida College, was awarded $100. He also receives free entry into the Garden State Film Festival (GSFF), which takes place March 25-28 in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
The humorous and creative eight-minute film, titled "Scars," follows Wiedeman as he interviews classmates and friends to unveil the stories that lie behind scars.
The Mount Ida College Film Festival, known as the Best of the Fest, features a collection of award-winning independent films from the Garden State Film Festival (GSFF) as well as a number of videos produced by students from the College. Students compete for over $800 in cash prizes and the opportunity to debut their film at the GSFF.
