On April 11, the Humanities and Communication Department faculty, students, friends and families gathered in Wells Theater to celebrate students' accomplishments throughout the year and send off graduating seniors.
Students were recognized by faculty based on their work and the skills they have shown, both in and out of the classroom.
The following awards were distributed to students:
Outstanding Senior in Humanities and Communication: Isabel Newcom, an English major from Logansport, Indiana.
Writing Center Outstanding Senior Tutor Award: Brooklynn Gravel, a communication major from Hillsdale, Michigan, and Isabel Newcom.
Outstanding Student Work in Graphic Arts: Lauren Banks, a communication major from Angola, Indiana.
Outstanding Student Leadership Award: Haylee Richards, an English major from Liberty, Indiana.
Mal Foerster Backstage Award: Katrina Kellogg, a design engineering technology major from Bryan, Ohio.
Golden Microphone Award Excellence in Broadcasting: Brooklynn Gravel.
Outstanding Freshman in HAC: Ian Hoffman, a communication major from Montpelier, Ohio.
Needler McGregor Excellence in English: Blake Williams, an English major from Elkhart, Indiana.
Outstanding Spanish Student Award: Madyson McShane, a psychology major from La Porte, Indiana.
Spanish instructor Ana Boman performed the Alpha Beta Nu chapter Induction Ceremony during the HAC awards. Meara Finnegan, a biology major from Blissfield, Michigan, was inducted into the chapter.
