PAUL SMITHS, NY (09/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Jim Zumbo, a former editor of Outdoor Life magazine and star of the TV show Jim Zumbo Outdoors, will give a talk at the Paul Smith's College VIC Tuesday, Sept. 17.
Zumbo, a 1960 graduate of Paul Smith's College, spent 15 years as a forester and wildlife biologist before his 30-year career with Outdoor Life magazine. He's written 25 books on hunting and fishing and has published thousands of articles and photographs in a variety of other magazines. Zumbo has also won numerous awards over the years, including the Lifetime Achievement award presented by the Outdoor Channel. He's given more than 1,000 seminars on big game hunting in more than 100 cities across the country.
These days, Zumbo spends most of his time leading wounded war veterans on hunting and fishing adventures all over the world, including Africa and Alaska. He lives in Cody, Wyo., and spends more than 250-days a year hunting and fishing. His television show, which began in 2004, is still featured on the Outdoor Channel.
