Cameras on School Buses to Help Identify Violators
ALBANY, NY (04/14/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York Association for Pupil Transportation will convene a press conference at 9:30 a.m. on April 23, 2009 at the Eagle Elementary School in the Bethlehem School District at 27 Van Dyke Road in Delmar, NY. We will be joined by Dept. of Motor Vehicles Deputy Commissioner Terri Egan. The event centers on the illegal passing of school buses---a dangerous highway safety problem that we estimate happens nearly 80,000 times PER DAY in New York! We will unveil new technology that will help us track the extent of this problem and apprehend violators.
