BRISTOL, RI (01/26/2010)(readMedia)-- Roger Williams University is now accepting applications for the Patrolman Gregory W. Bolden Memorial Scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year. This scholarship was created to honor the life of Patrolman Gregory W. Bolden, an 18-year veteran of the Providence Police Department. Patrolman Bolden received his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the RWU School of Justice Studies.
The scholarship is available to an incoming full-time freshman student majoring in Criminal Justice (or related field). The recipient must be a Providence resident graduating from a Providence public high school at the time of acceptance to the University. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and have a history of community service and a demonstrated financial need.
