Intermittent Paces along Turnpike Mainline between Donegal and Somerset
NEW STANTON, PA (08/03/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission alerts motorist of the upcoming intermittent traffic paces between Donegal (Exit # 91) and Somerset (Exit #110). The stoppages will affect westbound and eastbound traffic starting at 11:59 p.m. Aug., 6 through 6:00 a.m. Aug., 7. There will be up to ten paces lasting a maximum of 30 minutes each.
Weather permitting; the traffic paces will allow for the setting of concrete beams for the new bridge at MP 104.9 that carries Coxes Creek Road over the Turnpike in Somerset County.
During the 30-minute pace, state police will control the flow of traffic at slow speed, allowing the contractor a window to set the concrete beams without jeopardizing motorist or worker safety. Motorists in the area should be prepared for slow-moving traffic and possible intermittent stoppages. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions and other circumstances.
