Irving native eases emotional distress in community

WALLA WALLA, WA (01/24/2013)(readMedia)-- Irving native Vy Cao-Nguyen is working with social workers in the Walla Walla area to find creative ways to heal emotional trauma among community members through an internship at Whitman College. She works with adult groups, children, and visits patient's homes weekly to provide care.

Cao-Nguyen is the daughter of Vung Cao and Lan Nguyen from Irving, TX. She is a 2009 graduate of Nimitz High School.

At Whitman, Cao-Nguyen is a senior psychology major, intern for America Reads and America Counts, and is planning a service trip to Seattle in March to help with refugee resettlement programs.
