SAINT PAUL, MN (07/31/2012)(readMedia)-- Bethel University sophomore Rachel Kalk from Isanti, Minn., was recognized as a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) 2011-12 Academic All-Conference honoree. More than 400 student athletes from the league's 13-member institutions were recognized for their contributions on the field and their excellence in the classroom. Of the 449 total conference student athletes, 32 were Bethel University students.
In order to receive the award, Kalk had to be an above average, above freshman ranking and record a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a scale of 4.0. Kalk also had to have participated in at least 50 percent of her indoor and outdoor track team's regular-season varsity contests.
