BRONX, NY (11/18/2025) (readMedia)-- On Tuesday, JCRC-NY joined community partners, local elected officials, and UJA-Federation of New York at two turkey giveaway events in the Bronx, building bridges across New York's diverse communities and joining neighborhood efforts to support Bronx families ahead of the holiday season.

One event was hosted by Council Member Kevin Riley (Co-Chair of the Black, Latino and Asian Caucus) and New York State Senator Jamaal Bailey (Bronx County Leader). The second was hosted by Council Member Oswald Feliz, joined by Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson and Assembly Member Yudelka Tapia.

JCRC-NY staff took part in both distributions, working alongside volunteers and community leaders to share 300 turkeys with local residents at each event.

At a time when families are facing steep costs of living, the events helped ease the burden of putting a traditional Thanksgiving meal on the table. Both gatherings saw strong turnout and were a resounding success, reflecting the impact of collaborative, community-driven work.

"JCRC-NY was honored to join Bronx elected officials and their constituents today helping to ensure families have a turkey on their table this holiday season. When we work together, we strengthen not only individual households, but the bonds that hold our city together. These events provided JCRC staff, community members and elected officials with opportunities to build bridges across our diverse communities and foster a more interconnected New York for all," said Mark Treyger, CEO of JCRC-NY.

"UJA-Federation is proud to support community-driven efforts that bring people together. As families across New York face growing economic challenges, our partnerships with JCRC-NY, elected officials, and community-based organizations reflect our shared commitment to ensuring that everyone can celebrate the holidays with dignity and hope," said Vice President of Government Relations Daniel Rosenthal.

"I'm grateful to stand with JCRC, UJA Federation, our Parkside Residents Council partners and my colleague, Senator Jamaal T. Bailey, to ensure families in our community have what they need this Thanksgiving," said Council Member Kevin C. Riley. "With food insecurity on the rise and costs continuing to burden our households, these partnerships are more critical than ever. Together, we're showing up with compassion and consistency because no family in the Northeast Bronx should ever have to worry about having a meal on the table. This is the power of a community that shows up, and I'm proud to continue fighting for resources that uplift our residents."

"The Parkside Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution is our commitment to ensuring that our community has the opportunity to enjoy a warm and memorable holiday," said Senator Jamaal T. Bailey. "I want to thank the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JRCNY), UJA-Federation of New York, and Council Member Kevin C. Riley for making this event possible, providing the turkeys, and ensuring everyone in our community can have a turkey on their table."
