Jahicol A. Baralt selected as a Posse Scholar at Union College

SCHENECTADY, NY (01/18/2013)(readMedia)-- Jahicol A. Baralt of Lawrence, MA, has been selected as a Posse Scholar at Union College in Schenectady, NY.

The Posse Scholar program identifies public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential. Union College is one of Posse's nearly 40 partner colleges and universities, each of which award four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships to groups of 10 students – or Posses – annually.

Baralt, who attends the Performing and Fine Arts High School, was chosen after a rigorous selection process. In his high school career, Baralt has taking many honors, AP and college prep courses and diversified his academic courses with electives such as photography and ceramics. In addition to participating in a leadership and academic development program at Raytheon, Baralt mentors first-year high school students. He is hoping to pursue a career in endocrinology research.
