LEXINGTON, VA (01/24/2013)(readMedia)-- Jake Elijah Struebing of Amherst, N.Y., a junior at Washington and Lee University, has been elected to Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership fraternity for men and women.
Struebing was "tapped" during the annual Founder's Day/ODK Convocation at W&L on Friday, Jan. 18.
Struebing, an English major, belongs to Phi Eta Sigma honor society. A W&L scholar-athlete, he earned All-ODAC academic honors as a member of the golf team. He is a residential life taff member, and a writing tutor, and serves on the Shepherd Program Faculty-Student Advisory Committee and the Spring Term Coordinating Committee. He serves on the board of directors of Community Financial Freedom and its satellite nonprofit organization, Rockbridge Area Savings and Financial Empowerment, and he is active with the Shepherd Program's Youth Court Advocacy Project.
Founded at Washington and Lee in 1914, Omicron Delta Kappa recognizes superior leadership among students in various aspects of campus and community life.
