ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (12/02/2011)(readMedia)-- Jake Wilhelm of Annapolis, Maryland, is the recipient of a Scholarship for Study Abroad in Asia at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The scholarship is awarded to students who are studying abroad in the spring, fall, or summer semesters.
Wilhelm, Class of 2012, is majoring in biology. He is on the college varsity lacrosse team, a member of the Tri-Beta Honor Society, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee co-president, and the Chancellor's Point Fellow. Wilhelm, who is currently completing his senior project on oyster-seagrass, is interested in pursuing a career in ecology.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
