James Murphy Earns Region III Male Co-Athlete of the Week

TROY, NY (02/06/2013)(readMedia)-- Forward James Murphy (Comsewogue, Long Island) of the #3 Hudson Valley Community College men's hockey team (11-6) earned Region III Male Co-Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday morning.

Murphy helped lead the Vikings to a pair of wins, including an 8-2 victory over #5 Broome Community College. He recorded a hat trick and two assists against Mohawk Valley, and then turned around and added another hat trick against Broome on Saturday afternoon. Murphy currently leads the Nation with 31 goals, and is tied with teammate William Huber (Arlington/Hopewell) for most points in the Nation with 49.

The Vikings travel to play Albany Club on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 9 p.m.
