James Peta of New Hartford Recognized for 40 Years of Service to the University of Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, CT (03/19/2013)(readMedia)-- James Peta of New Hartford, Conn., lecturer in economics and director of the MBA program at the University of Hartford's Barney School of Business, was recognized for 40 years of teaching at the University during its annual Recognition Day ceremony on March 6. The event honored employees who have completed 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service.

Peta, who earned an MBA from the University of Hartford in 1969, began teaching as an adjunct faculty member in 1973. During his four-decade career as a manufacturing industry executive, he taught part-time, specializing in quantitative methods. In 2008, he joined the University full-time, becoming director of the MBA program while continuing to teach in the department of Economics, Finance and Insurance.

Peta said he has seen significant changes at the University over the past 40 years, including the physical development of the campus and a tremendous growth in the expertise and excellence of the Barney School, its faculty, and its students.
