Jamie Long of Shreveport, La., receives Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honor

GEORGETOWN, TX (05/23/2011)(readMedia)-- Jamie Long of Shreveport, La., was named to the 2011 All- Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Second Team in lacrosse.
Long is a member of the lacrosse team at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. He was the driving force behind the Pirate offense in 2011, ending the year with a team high 22 assists, second in the conference. He recorded 26 goals in 16 games, second on the team and ninth in the SCAC and led the Pirates in points. Long had a season-high six goals and five assists in a 23-3 routing of Oglethrope April 10.
Long is the son of Jim and Susan Long and is a graduate of Captain Shreve High School.
The Pirates closed out the season in fourth place in the SCAC with a 7-9 overall record, 4-3 in the SCAC and earned a bid to the first-ever SCAC Conference Tournament where they were narrowly defeated 10-4 by Colorado College.
