Jean Rogers of Chicopee receives social work award at Elms College
CHICOPEE, MA (05/18/2010)(readMedia)-- Jean Rogers of Chicopee received the O'Connor/Joyce Social Work Student of the Year Award at Elms College's annual spring Honors Convocation. The award is given to a graduating social work major who has attained a minimum 3.2 grade point average; has been an inspiration to her classmates; has contributed to the development of the social work program, the college, and the civic community; and who has the potential to make a significant contribution to the social work profession. The award was established to honor Father Vincent O'Connor and Sister John Martha Joyce, s.s.j., founders of the Elms social work program.
Rogers was awarded her bachelor of science degree from Elms Sunday, May 16.
