ST. LOUIS, MO (06/13/2012)(readMedia)-- Missouri Baptist University's Alumni Association recently honored outstanding alumni who have made a significant impact in their communities and made efforts to improve society. Honorees were selected by the Alumni Board of Governors and recognized at MBU's Alumni Chapel service.
Jeff Ewing of Birmingham, Ala., received the 2012 Outstanding Young Alumni award. Ewing received a B.A. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Sport Management from Missouri Baptist University in 1999. After graduating from MBU, he began a career in sports marketing and event management. Ewing has worked for Bruno Event Team, a Birmingham, Ala.-based sports and event management company, since 2002. He has held various positions of leadership within all divisions of Bruno Event Team and currently serves as championship director of the 2014 U.S. Senior Open at Oak Tree National in Edmond, Okla.
Throughout his career, he has participated in the management of all event aspects of more than 35 major sporting events across the country. These events have been attended by more than 2.5 million spectators and volunteers. In each of the cities he has worked, he is actively involved with the community leadership, governmental agencies and corporate sector to produce a great event that will build community spirit and will have a significant economic impact on the local economy.
Prior to joining Bruno Event Team, Ewing spent three years working on several professional golf events on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour and LPGA Tour.
