Jessica Megan O'Neil Receives the 2012 Jacobs Music Steinway Award

PHILADELPHIA, PA (05/23/2012)(readMedia)-- Ms. Valerie Vogt of Jacobs Music awarded junior Jessica Megan O'Neil, a music education major from Philadelphia, Pa. with the Jacobs Music Steinway Award at Honors Convocation on April 29, 2012.

The award is presented to a junior or senior who holds a 3.0 GPA overall and a 3.5 GPA in music or music education classes, and personifies the mission and values of Chestnut Hill College.

O'Neil was chosen for the award for demonstrating an outstanding record of participation and attendance at College music department events and for promoting the mission and values of Chestnut Hill College. At the College, she is a member of the Hill Singers, Flute Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Mask & Foil, the Association of Performing Arts, and is involved in the student-run musicals. A leader on campus, she is also vice president of the Student Government Association, an orientation leader, a resident assistant, in departmental honors, and a member of Kappa Delta Epsilon.
