HERKIMER, NY (05/30/2012)(readMedia)-- Several Herkimer County Community College softball players were recently named to the NJCAA All-American team for the 2012 season.
First team selections include Jessica Patterelli, a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major from Canastota. Patterelli had a .569 batting average, 64 RBI's, 18 doubles, 5 triples, and 3 home runs. She was also selected for First Team All Conference and First Team All Region teams.
The Generals ended their season with an overall record of 38-6, 12-0 in the Mountain Valley Conference and won the program's first regional championship in 12 years. They also finished fifth in the National Championship Tournament held in Rochester, Minnesota.
Herkimer County Community College is a unit of the State University of New York, located in Herkimer, NY about 20 miles east of Utica, NY. With an enrollment of approximately 3,600 students, Herkimer offers more than 40 associate degree and certificate programs, on-campus housing, an active co-curricular activities schedule and a national championship athletic program. Herkimer is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has amassed 33 national, 85 regional and 126 conference championships. Herkimer placed second in the 2010-11 National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup competition.
