STAUNTON, VA (09/26/2011)(readMedia)-- The Staunton Parks and Recreation Department announces it's newest featured guest in The Awakening Consciousness Musical Enlightenment Series. Jim Gagnon of the Dreamtime project will play on Wednesday, September 28th at the Bandstand in Gypsy Hill Park from 6-8pm. Staunton Parks and Recreation "is for kids" and so is Jim Gagnon. Jim performs and interacts with many school groups, so his Gypsy Hill Park performance will be very kid friendly.
The Dreamtime Project shares music and myths from around the world incorporating world music instruments, and storytelling in a way that is educational, inspirational, and most importantly, fun! African drumming, Australian didgeridoo, Native American flute, and folktales are woven together with themes of unity, diversity, and a great reverence for the environment.
Bring the kids for a free and enjoyable evening at the Bandstand in Gypsy Hill Park. To know more about Jim Gagnon go here:http://www.dreamtimeproject.com/. The next performer on Wednesday October 5 will be Joy Gedeon with her crystal bowls, Chinese wind gong and her voice.
