DANVILLE, KY (04/22/2013)(readMedia)-- John Perry, formerly of Jackson, was awarded tenure and promotion to associate professor of economics at Centre College in Danville, Ky.
Perry joined Centre's faculty in 2007 as assistant professor of economics, and he was named a Centre Scholar in 2010. He is an applied microeconomist with an active research agenda whose primary areas of expertise are labor and health economics. Before coming to Centre, Perry was staff economist for the Legislative Research Commission of the Kentucky General Assembly. He holds an economics degree from Centre (2000) and earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in economics at the University of Kentucky.
Perry is the son of Johnnie and Lillian Perry of Jackson, and is a graduate of Forest Hill High School.
Centre College, founded in 1819, is a nationally ranked liberal arts college in Danville, Ky. Centre hosted its second Vice Presidential Debate on 10.11.12, and remains the smallest college in the smallest town ever to host a general election debate.
