POTSDAM, NY (12/29/2011)(readMedia)-- Community Performance Series in Potsdam is excited to bring John Tartaglia's "ImaginOcean" to the Sara M. Snell Music Theater on the SUNY Potsdam campus for an upcoming Meet the Arts Series event.

CPS will host a public performance on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at 3 p.m., in addition to two sold-out education outreach performances on Monday, Jan. 9. Prior to the Sunday public performance, CPS will offer a puppet-making workshop with Hilary Oak of the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.

"ImaginOcean" is a family-friendly puppet musical chock-full of special effects, including black lights, bubbles and more. The show follows fish friends Tank, Bubbles and Dorsel on their adventure while they sing and dance to original music in R&B, big band and swing styles. They use their treasure map to search for clues before discovering the greatest treasure of all -- friendship.

"The audience members were literally buzzing with enthusiasm and their response during the show was one of ongoing delight!" said Bev Ford of the Marion Palace Theatre in Marion, Ohio, which recently presented the show. "Several of the audience members declared 'ImaginOcean' to be "their favorite show of all time."

Conceptualized by Tony-Award nominee John Tartaglia, "ImaginOcean" closed its 18-month off-Broadway run in September 2011 to begin a national tour this past October. Tartaglia is best known as the executive producer, creator and star of Disney Channel's eight-time Emmy-nominated "Johnny and the Sprites."

Tickets for "ImaginOcean" are $5 for youth and $10 for adults. Tickets for the Jan. 8 public performance can be purchased online at www.cpspotsdam.org, by phone at (315) 267-2277, or in person at the CPS Box Office, located in the lobby of Snell Theater on the SUNY Potsdam campus, or at Northern Music & Video in downtown Potsdam.
