Joseph Canamucio of Ridley Park Honored for Academic Excellence

SCRANTON, PA (06/21/2010)(readMedia)-- Joseph F. Canamucio, Ridley Park, Pa., was one of the 57 students who received awards from The University of Scranton during its undergraduate Class Night ceremony. The Jesuit university recognized exceptional students from the Class of 2010 with awards for academic achievement and service.

Canamucio was the recipient of the Professor Timothy H. Scully Award for Excellence in Political Science. He received a bachelor of science, magna cum laude, in political science with minors in philosophy and English.

He was a member of the Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program and was listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He was also a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, Pi Sigma Alpha, Phi Sigma Tau, Sigma Tau Delta and Pi Alpha Theta honor societies and he served as president for the Pre-Law Society.

Canamucio will be attending Villanova School of Law.

He graduated from Ridley High School, Ridley Park, PA.
