Julia Krout of Ellicott City Wins Washington College Department of Biology Medical Professional Award
CHESTERTOWN, MD (06/07/2013)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that Julia Krout '13 of Ellicott City, MD, has been named the recipient of the 2012-13 Department of Biology Medical Professional Award. The award recognizes "a graduating biology major who has demonstrated academic excellence, who is pursuing a medical or veterinary degree, and who has a strong potential for success in the medical or veterinary fields."
Krout graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biology at Washington College's 230th commencement ceremony this May. During her time at the College, she was a member of the Equestrian Team, Rugby Club, the Tri Beta biology honor society and the Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honor society. Beginning this August, she will attend the University of Florida Center of Veterinary Medicine.
Founded in 1782 under the patronage of George Washington, Washington College is a private, independent college of liberal arts and sciences located in colonial Chestertown on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
