RALEIGH, NC (11/20/2012)(readMedia)-- William Peace University student Julie Davis was crowned the winner of Peace Idol on Friday, edging out four other finalists, to emerge victorious on the university's version of American Idol, the reality singing competition.
Davis, who breezed through the audition process, performed the Etta James classic "At Last" in front of a packed Kenan Auditorium and a three-person judging panel comprised of a student and two faculty members. She received a special trophy among other prizes for her win.
Peace Idol is an annual William Peace University event showcasing the vocal abilities of participating students.
