Juneau native receives photo contest award

WALLA WALLA, WA (02/10/2012)(readMedia)-- Lauren Hopson of Juneau recently won an honorable mention in the Whitman College 2011 Off-Campus Studies Digital Image Contest. Her photo, entitled "Demel Sachertorte," was taken during her time abroad in Austria.

The Whitman College Off-Campus Studies Office sponsors an annual image competition to allow returning students to share a piece of their travels with the greater campus community. Winners of the contest receive a gift certificate to the college bookstore.

Hopson, the daughter of Dan and Martha Hopson, is a 2008 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School. She is currently a senior psychology major at Whitman.
