LOUIS, MO (11/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Missouri Baptist University recognized men's basketball player Kalvin Lewis as the Spartan Athlete of the Week after he led the Spartans to a 1-1 record last week, getting an 83-71 victory against Baptist Bible College. Lewis played well in both games, totaling 37 points, eight steals, four assists and 10 rebounds. The guard's best game came against #21 Evangel University, where Lewis added 20 points on 6-14 shooting and had seven steals.
Lewis is a senior from Missouri City, Texas, who is majoring in secondary education and physical education.
MBU is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and has received the distinction of being an NAIA Champions of Character institution for the past 10 years. The Spartans compete in the American Midwest Conference.
