Kara Stackpole of Westfield receives nursing award at Elms College

CHICOPEE, MA (05/19/2010)(readMedia)-- Kara Stackpole of Westfield, Massachusetts, received an award from La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux at Elms College's annual Honors Convocation. The Forty and Eight Honor Society of U. S. Veterans is committed to charitable and patriotic aims. Since 1955, Forty and Eight has adopted a program to provide financial assistance for nursing education across the country.

The Forty and Eight of Chicopee, Massachusetts, established this award to recognize a sophomore or junior nursing student who is a veteran, child of a veteran, or active military; has achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher; and who has demonstrated active student leadership or community service.

Stackpole, a nursing major, will begin her junior year at Elms in September.
