CHESTER, PA (05/28/2013)(readMedia)-- Daniel Karakas of Perkiomenville, Pa., was commissioned as a second lieutenant of the U.S. Army through the ROTC program at Widener University. He graduated from Widener on May 18 with a degree in nursing.
As a member of Widener's Dauntless Battalion, Karakas completed the Leader Development and Assessment Course. He will enter active duty by attending the nurse basic officer leader course at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. He will serve the Army as a nurse corps officer.
