Karen Natalie Walker Elected to Bowdoin College Board of Trustees

BRUNSWICK, ME (05/23/2011)(readMedia)-- Karen Natalie Walker, of Alexandria, Va., has been elected to the Bowdoin College Board of Trustees. Walker, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 1984, was one of seven trustees elected for a term of five years, effective July 1, 2011.

Walker is a litigator, concentrating on complex commercial litigation. She has a wide variety of trial, general litigation, negotiation, counseling and investigation experience including antitrust, product liability, health care, intellectual property and securities fraud, with special experience in complex class action litigation including multidistrict litigation.

Walker's previous service to the College includes roles as Alumni Fund director, BASIC (Bowdoin Alumni and Schools Interviewing Committee) volunteer, class agent and chair of the Leadership Gift and 25th Reunion Committees. Her daughter, Nancy Walker, has been admitted to the Class of 2015.

The other newly elected trustees include Stewart Bainum Jr., Gregory B. Bowes '83, Tasha vanderLinde Irving '82, George A. Khaldun '73, Kathleen K. Phillips '99, and John K. Thorndike '02.
