SCRANTON, PA (07/20/2012)(readMedia)-- Kathleen M. Tuohy of Hillsdale was among just 25 members of The University of Scranton's Class of 2012 to graduate from the Jesuit university's Honors Program. She received a bachelor of science, summa cum laude, with a double major in elementary education and special education. She was mentored by Vanessa Talarico, Ph.D., associate professor of education, and her thesis was "Utilizing Response Interruption and Redirection for a Student with Autism." Tuohy will perform a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Sacramento, Calif., as an outreach assistant at a school for homeless children.
