CHESTERTOWN, MD (03/20/2014)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce the recent induction of Katie Despeaux '14 of Thurmont, MD, into Phi Beta Kappa. Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most elite honor society in the United States. The society serves to recognize the power of a liberal arts education by acknowledging students that have achieved high levels of intellectual discipline and achievement.

Despeaux is majoring in psychology and French and is minoring in art/art history. On campus, she is a member of the Psychology Club and the Service Council.

Founded in 1782 under the patronage of George Washington, Washington College is a private, independent college of liberal arts and sciences located in colonial Chestertown on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
