Kayte Forester Named SCAC Character & Community Honoree

GEORGETOWN, TX (09/29/2011)(readMedia)-- KAYTE FORESTER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore runner on the women's cross country team from Grand Prairie, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending September 25, 2011.
Forester has been an Intramural Official and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She has aided in the Colleges Against Cancer, Race for the Cure, LIVESTRONG Austin Half-Marathon as well as serving as a really member for Invisible Children.
In June 2010, Forester volunteered on a hurricane relief trip to Galveston and has served sandwiches to the homeless through the University of Texas Wesley Foundation.
Her leadership has extended beyond the team as she served as a small group leader for the Southwest Texas Conference Midwinter Retreat in 2011 and is the founder of Bubble Bursters, a first-year fellowship and service club.
Forester also serves on the Outreach Council and participates in ATX rides, a drunk-driving prevention program.
