Kenosha native honored by Marquette University's Department of Social and Cultural Sciences
MILWAUKEE, WI (07/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Monique Driver, daughter of Anthony and Michele Driver, was honored with the Bruce Biever Award for Outstanding Sociology Senior from Marquette University's Department of Social and Cultural Sciences. Driver graduated in May with a bachelor of arts in sociology.
The Biever Award is an annual award given in memory of Rev. Bruce Biever, S.J., who served as a professor and chairperson of the social and cultural sciences department for many years and was deeply committed to teaching. The winners are outstanding seniors majoring in sociology, as voted by the faculty and based on academic record, leadership, and university and community service. The student receives their name on a plaque in the department, a certificate and $250 toward financial aid.
Driver was selected for the award based on her excellent academic record, leadership and service to the university and community. She has been exemplary in all three areas and will be continuing to a master's degree at Loyola University in the fall.
