SPRINGFIELD, MA (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- Kevin Babcock of Vernon, CT, was honored during Western New England University's 11th annual Student Media Festival. A junior majoring in Communication, Babcock received six awards at the event. Babcock's submission titled "Feel So Close" won him 2nd place in the Music Video Jury Award category and 3rd place in the Music Video People's Choice Award category while his submission titled "DirecTV" placed 1st in the PSA/TV Commercial Jury Award category and 1st in the PSA/TV Commercial People's Choice Award category. In addition, Babcock took home 3rd in the TV Reporting Jury Award category for his submission "Film Society" and 2nd place for his submission titled "Snowstorm" in the TV Reporting People's Choice Award category.
The Student Media Festival was created to provide students a venue to display their works to fellow students, faculty, staff, and the public so that students can be recognized for their successes in creating quality films and videos over the past year.
