Kevin Diemer Voted NACC Men's Basketball South Division Player of the Week

Rockford University junior forward Kevin Diemer has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball South Division Player of the Week the conference announced Tuesday morning. Diemer becomes the first Regent from any team to earn an award from the NACC this season. This also marks the first time in his career that he has been named the conference's player of the week.

Kevin Diemer helped lead Rockford to a 2-1 record this past week. He scored at least 20 points and shot over 63% from the floor in all three of the Regents' games. He opened with 24 points on 63.6% shooting (7-of-11), 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in a 97-70 win over MSOE. He followed that up with a 21-point performance off of 72.7% shooting (8-of-11), 7 rebounds and 1 steal in a 96-79 victory against Aurora. Diemer then concluded his week on Saturday with 20 points on 80% shooting (8-of-10), 3 rebounds and 1 block. For the week, he averaged 21.7 points on a blistering 71.9% shooting and 4.3 rebounds.

The men's basketball team returns to the court on Friday, February 12 against Concordia University Chicago. Tip-off between the Regents and Cougars is scheduled for 7:00 PM in the Seaver Center.
