CANTON, NY (06/09/2010)(readMedia)-- Milburn resident Kevin Szott was awarded an Alumni Citation by St. Lawrence University President William L. Fox during a ceremony at Alumni Reunion Weekend, June 5.
Szott, who graduated from St. Lawrence in 1986, is the winner of three Paralympic Gold Medals, more than 20 international and world medals in six different events and 36 national titles. He is only the second athlete to win medals in four different Paralympic sports (judo, wrestling, goalball, and track and field), earning medals in three Paralympic Games. He is a regional sales manager for The Hartford, the founding sponsor of U.S. Paralympics. Retired from competition, he continues to make national contributions as president of the United States Association of Blind Athletes.
Alumni Citations are awarded to graduates of the University for long-term and exemplary service to the University or for exemplary professional accomplishment or community volunteer activities.
