What are we doing?
The Kids' Mountain Bike Day will introduce new and experienced cyclists to mountain biking. The kids will learn skills that will enable them to ride and enjoy trails, that will hopefully lead to a lifetime of mountain biking. Balance, braking, climbing, descending, obstacles and trail etiquette will be covered. And having fun is a requirement!
Where is this happening?
Montgomery Hall Park in Staunton – meet in the soccer field parking lot
When?
Saturday, July 17
What time?
8:30 check-in, 9:00-12:00 skills and ride
What are the ages?
The workshop is for ages 8-18 (to be split into age groups 8-10, 11-14, and 15-18)
Is there a cost?
ONLY $5
When do I need to register by and Where?
July 14 at the Staunton-Augusta Family YMCA
What should I bring/What is required?
Complete all registration/medical forms. Bike (preferably a mountain bike) and helmet. If a child needs a bike or helmet contact Bruce Blair at the Staunton-Augusta YMCA 540-885-8089 (limited supply). Bikes provided by Office on Youth SPOKES program.
