LATHAM, N.Y. (04/30/2013)(readMedia)-- New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs employee Kimberly Badalucco has been awarded the division's Certificate of Appreciation by Major General Patrick Murphy, the Adjutant General of New York.

Badalucco, the executive assistant for the New York State Military Awards Program,was recognized for the work she did in processing and distributing the awards that more than 4500 National Guard Soldiers and Airmen earned when they responded to Hurricane Sandy in October and November 2012.

With minimal assistance, Badalucco, who workd in the DMNA state human resources office,  processed 819 Humane Service to New York State medals for issue to Guard Soldiers and Airman from Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Ohio Pennsylvania and West Virginia. She also ensured that the New York National Guard Soldiers and Airmen entitled to the New York Humane Service Medal and the Aid to Civil Authorities Medal received their award in a timely fashion.

While handling those thousands awards she also processed 200 more awards for Conspicuous Services, Meritorious Service, and Military Commendation among others. She also processed six New York Medals for Valor which requires attention to detail and diligence in ensuring that the required documents are on hand.

Badalucco lives in Rotterdam Junction with her husband, Michael and four children: Allesandra, Gabriella, Michael III and Olivia.
